The Leyland cypress displays dense, dark green foliage with soft, feathery tips. It produces a mild resinous fragrance with fresh, spicy, and citrusy notes. Unlike other evergreens, the Leyland does not have true needles, which means it does not shed them. A hybrid of Monterey cypress and Nootka cypress, the Leyland originated in England.
